FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is ANEW Being?
ANEW Being is the name created by Helen L. Edmond for herself as she reframed the enslavement of her ancestors. She says, "I/we are the melting pot that is America." It is clear to see that what is commonly referred to as African American, Blacks, Colored people and Negroes are a new race created from older races; Africans, Native, Europeans and other World races. We are an infant race struggling for survival against the old traditions and institutions that are being forced upon us, though antiquated, by the older races. We simply need to declare ourselves as an infant race and seek protection from those older races founded on violence and learn to be nonviolent which is our heritage and destiny, if we are to survive.
