This site is designed to serve as a portal for Bevelian Nonviolence. Rev. James Bevel used nonviolence as a strategy that allowed him to educate and direct nonviolent programs to success like the Birmingham Movement. Top on his list of his accomplishment is the Selma Right to Vote Movement which he created with his then wife Diane Nash, (after the bombing that killed four little girls in Birmingham), whcih led to th 1965 Voting Rights Act. For the first time his teachings are made available to the public. Bevelian Nonviolence is about taking actions. Bevel was a co-founder of The Nashville Student Movement, cco-founder of The Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC). He served as Director of Nonviolent Education and Director of Direct Action for The Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) under the leadership of Dr. Martin Luther Ling, Jr. Neww audios, articles and pictures will be added weekly and sometimes daily So please return. Profanity is used in these audios.
On April 4, 1969, James said he was visited by the spirit of Dr. King and he said to him, "Doc you said we would get to the Promised Land so where is the roadmap?" He further said that Dr. King gave him the above Prayer Process that Bevel called the Six Institutional Development Process for Human & Community Development. This process was later revised by Myeka to include the first prayer process of "My" to become a seven institutional process.
